Applied Statistics and Epidemiology

This course prepares the DNP student to apply basic epidemiological and biostatistical principles, concepts, and procedures for the surveillance and investigation of health-related states or events. Students will analyze disease incidence and prevalence to provide analyses leading to effective interventions and preventions with emphasis placed on the objectives of Healthy People 2020. Sources of data, associations between diseases and precipitating factors, and statistical representations will be discussed.
