Management Of Financial Institutions

The course focuses on the application of financial management policies and analytical techniques to commercial banks and other financial institutions. Discussion of strategic financial issues, such as the regulatory environment, optimal asset allocation, mergers and acquisitions, and cost of capital. Examination of modern management techniques, such as duration-based asset-liability models, the benefits and risks associated with off-balance sheet activity, and a variety of risk-hedging instruments and techniques commonly employed by financial institutions.
