Error Control Coding

This course introduces the theory of error control coding for digital transmission in communications. Topics include groups, fields, GF(2), linear block codes, cyclic codes, BCH codes, Reed-Solomon codes, convolutional codes, maximum likelihood decoding of convolutional codes, Viterbi algorithm, sequential decoding of convolutional codes, continuous phase modulation codes, trellis coded modulation, and turbo codes.
